About the coaches....



Robert Sackey holds a class 'A' coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation and is a regular participant in CYSA- North programs.

He has been coaching and developing soccer programs in the bay area for 17 years, and has been a CYSA Staff coach for 10 years. He is the Technical Director for the Mavericks competitive program of the ACCYSL and has coached many Mavericks teams. He has experience with youth and high school teams, developing the girls and boys soccer programs at Head Royce school, spending 9 years there, as well as developing thegirls program at El Cerrito HS, coaching there for 12 seasons. 

He has coached the San Francisco Nighthawks, a woman's semi-pro team which plays in the WPSL. Robert is a native of Ghana and continues to work to
further develop the sport in that country. He is the technical director for Sekondi Hasaacas,  a men’s premier footbal club. He was part of the technical team for the Ghana men’s national team. the Black Stars, during the 2006 World Cup, as well as working on the technical team for the Ghana  women’s national team, the Black Queens, for the 2003 Women’s World Cup. This is Robert's third year coaching this Mavericks team.



George Pastor played collegiate soccer at U.C. Berkeley. After college,
he played professional indoor and outdoor soccer for seven years
including stints with the San Jose Earthquakes and the Milwaukee Wave. 
 From 1988 thru 1990, he played on the U.S. National team.  In addition,
George was a member of the championship teams in the 1992 U.S. Open
Cup, the 1994 U.S. over-30 Open Cup, and the 2004 U.S. over-40 Open
Cup. George has extensive experience coaching youth soccer teams in
California and the Midwest. Since 2000, he has coached various U-6 thru
U-12 boys and girls teams, for ABSC and ACCYSL Mavericks.  George is
currently the Coaching Coordinator for the Mavericks.
